AppBrain
I was initially a big fan of Cyrket, but it went south a few months back when Google blocked some of it’s app discovery on the Android Market. I recently found AppBrain and having only used it for a day, I love it. This is something Google should have done from the beginning. Having the best search engine in the world and a brain-dead market on the web just doesn’t make sense. At least AppBrain is taking up the slack now.
What is cool too is some of the Android Market analysis they have done. I was surprised by really how few developers for Android there really is: “ In total there were 28,936 apps created by 7,429 developers. Even though the average number of apps per developer was just 3.9, there were 32 developers who launched more than 100 apps in the Android Market. The number of developers grouped by their number of apps launched is shown in the figure below.”
